The LionessThe Lioness
Silently, the great lioness stalked around the village. Despite the twin suns shining in all their warm glory, the beast went unnoticed by the busy tribe. The Darkest RainbowWeary faces, their skins darkened and stained after days of blistering under the sun, look upon the bloodied field both in victory and in mourning.
Filling the sky after a scorching battle, the sun rises, a dazzling eye peering over gloomy hills and salty waters.
Light's reflection is painted on the waves tracing the horizon of a tainted ocean.
Leaves from palm trees blow freely in the wind, serenely unaware of life's more bitter tastes.
Hazy eyes, drained of all life, stare upwards as storm clouds drift slowly overhead.
Birds and butterflies, knowing nothing of war, retreat to their havens, soaring on to happier places.
Under the earth, men are buried, their loved ones come, bearing tiny flowers in their memory.
